From what I've seen in tutorials on YT, this integration method is much the same as used in Vegas POST when going to Vegas Effects. FXHome recently released a patch for HF Express so you might want to check the build that you get from FXHome to make sure that integration is still available - fortunately, a patch released earlier this year for HitFilm Pro version 2021.3 did not end integration with Vegas Pro.īoth HitFilm Pro and HF Express are accessible directly from a video event on Vegas Pro's timeline by right clicking the video event and selecting 'Edit in HitFilm':Īssuming that integration is still in place and you buy Mocha HitFilm from the HF Express Add-on Store, you'll then be able to undertake camera tracking and planar mask tracking within HF Express and save it back to Vegas Pro. If you are going to get the free HitFilm Express, it would be a good idea to do it sooner rather than later because FXHome announced with the release of version 2021.3 in December last year that this would be the last version of HF Express (and HitFilm Pro as well) to integrate with Vegas Pro. this just occurred to me as I was about to end this thread. like version 6) on the FXHome web site, that a licensed user would have access to? That would make buying a Mocha Hitfilm license a no-brainer, if it provided a licensed user access to a prior version that would still work inside Vegas Pro 19. Do you happen to know whether there are download links to prior versions of Mocha Hitfilm (i.e. Just always been a bit of a 3D nut, so the whole area has piqued my interest, despite being inexperienced in this space. I'm not even close to knowing whether any of these might be possible, and it's not like it's an immediate requirement at the moment. Or perhaps figure out how to leverage the Mocha functionality that exists inside some of my existing BorisFX plug-ins to see if they can duplicate a 3D tracking effect. Leaves me also wondering if the 3D camera tracking effect might somehow be achieved directly inside a 3D program (like my copy of Lightwave), by using video as a motion backdrop in 3D space combined with a bunch of obnoxious key-framing. Seems relatively cheap to investigate whether there's some way to integrate the use of Vegas Pro and HItfilm Express with Mocha Hitfilm to achieve a poor man's version of 3D camera tracking. Since the once free MatchMover 2014 app seems to have been moth-balled by Autodesk, I was searching for other less expensive alternatives than BorisFX Mocho Pro. No prior experience in this area, but I think I grasp the concept from watching a bunch of videos. Just trying to figure out the least expensive (but effective) means to achieve 3D camera tracking. Kind of what I was guessing might be the situation these days, but wasn't sure how many responses it would take to get a complete answer. In any case, wondering if there are any Vegas Pro 19 users with this inexpensive Mocha add-on that can confirm whether they have got it working inside Vegas Pro 19, using Foll's simple hack? for $49.īack in 2020, it appears he was using version 6, so things may have changed since then in a more recent version, and this may no longer work. By his comments in the thread, Foll hadn't yet purchased Hitfilm Pro, so I can only assume that he was using the Mocha Hitfilm Express add on. That's made me wonder whether other Vegas Pro users who have the Mocha Hitfilm Express Add-on have ever tried this, and were able to get MOcha Hitfilm working with Vegas Pro 19, successfully. "I found out that Mocha wasn't showing up in Vegas, but today I found out if I copy the folder from C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\HitFilmPro to C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins folder that Vegas could use mochaHitFilm6." He seemed to imply that with a folder change in the location of the Moch Hitfilm Add-on for Hitfilm Express plugin, he got it working inside Vegas Pro 18. I was browsing some old comments about Vegas Post in the Hitfilm forums and John Foll made a comment that peaked my interest.
